AQUATIC EXERCISE
AQUA-CISE
Aquacise incorporates the familiar composition of warm-up, aerobics, muscle conditioning and cool-down with the physical properties of resistance, buoyancy and warmer temperatures. It is suitable for both male and female swimmers and non-swimmers.
IS IT FOR ME?
Water is 800 times denser than air so you will get a better work out with a smaller risk of injury than if you were exercising on land. It is a fun way to get some exercise and is perfect if you don’t want to get all hot and sweaty like you do in many land-based classes.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
Water supports your body, putting less pressure and stress on your joints and muscles – making aqua aerobics brilliant for our older supporters and those recovering from an injury or illness. More importantly it’s great fun and a great way to get active.

One piece swimming costume
Towel
Water/ drinks bottle - It is important to keep hydrated whilst exercising. Water bottle filling facilities are available in our centre.

STRETCH-ACISE
Stretch-acise is an enjoyable, safe exercise program designed to increase feeling of well being and improve performance of daily activities. This class is mild cardiovascular workout using resistance to improve range of motion, muscular strength and flexibility.
IS IT FOR ME?
In the class there is a focus on gentle stretching, flexing, extension and range-of-motion. Exercises are done in shallow water and focus on activities of daily living, moving a joint through your range of motion and holding it to feel a gentle stretch in the muscle.

AQUA-NATAL
Aqua natal is a water based workout for pregnant ladies from 12 weeks onwards. These sessions are run by qualified instructors. Booking is essential.
Benefits of exercise in pregnancy:
• Decreased risk of oedema (swelling) in normal pregnancy
• Improved circulation
• Improved posture and balance
• Increased body awareness and confidence

• Meeting other pregnant mothers

CAN I DO IT?
Yes you most certainly can, you don't even need to be able to swim! Please ensure you have read and completed our 'Pre and post natal screening informed consent questionnaire' and bring this along to your first class.
